****NOTICES****

Goodbye to Hero:  This is sad day at Beechmont Stables.  Our friend Marilyn is moving her horse Hero to be closer to her home.  While we totally understand, we will miss you terribly!  You are always welcome here......

Free Lesson Opportunity:  Our new instructor, Julia, is looking for someone to help her around her own barn.  Julia has four big warmbloods that are trained for dressage.  She lives on the east side of Bethel.  You must be responsible & hardworking & willing to learn barn and horse management.  Call Julia at (513) 314-5873 for more details.

Horse Psychology 101:  This is a new section of the Horse 101 Manual.  Testing for the 2nd level will come directly from this page.  Though everyone is encouraged to study it. Click here to read the new horse psychology chapter.

HI ALL - WE ARE GOING TO HOLD OFF ON SAT EVENING LESSONS UNTIL SCHOOL STARTS.
New Saturday Evening Instructor:  Angela graduated from Wilson College in 1999 with a B.S. in Equestrian Studies. She has extensive experience caring for horses and teaching English riding lessons for children and adults. Anglia spent 3 years as horseback riding program director for Camp Greenbriar in West Virginia.  She is a certified riding instructor through C.H.A. achieving level 4 (the highest level) in English riding and level 2 (out of 4) in Western.

New Friday Evening Instructor:  Please welcome Kim.  Kim taught beginner to intermediate group lessons at barns in OH and TX for 5  years as well as private lessons/show coaching for up to limit rider (including over fences). Kim has taught/shown hunt seat and novice dressage but also was on a western equestrian drill team for 3 summers.

Testing Has Begun:  As many of you know at Beechmont Stables we try to educate people young and old on horsemanship from A-Z.  Generally everything on the tests is included in the Horsemanship101 manual.  Some things may also come from the volunteer manual.  As volunteers pass the tests they move through the ribbon levels:  Pink, Green, White, Yellow, Red and finally to the top level of Blue.  Starting today you will be able to take the tests at your own rate.  Ask Judy for the tests. As you move up on the levels your name will move up.  To see your current level click here.

New Tues/Wed EVENING Riding Instructor:  Please welcome our newest instructor, Sally Blanton.  Sally has 14 years of riding, training, and teaching experience in hunters and jumpers.  She is very good with beginners to advanced riders.  Sally will be teaching on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and filling in for other trainers when needed.  Welcome Sally!!!.

BABY SEASON IS OVER:  Unfortunately, our lofty goal of placing 50 babies this year did not come true.  We did find homes for 15 lucky babies.  It was very sad because we had 62 adoption applications and only three of those people actually adopted.  Next year there will be $25 fee to apply for a baby.  Hopefully that will keep only those truly interested in adoption on the list.

LESSON UPDATES:  Because of the summer heat we are changing from afternoon lessons to mornings and evenings.  In an effort to ride in the coolest times please be ready to ride by your ride time.  If you are a beginner and your instructor needs to help you get ready that will be considered part of your hour of instruction.  Lessons are going to start on the hour from now on.  Also, if you need to cancel a lesson please try to do so within 24 hours of the lesson.  If you forget to cancel you will be billed for your lesson in order to cover the costs of the trainer.  Thank you for your understanding in advance!

BARN HOURS: The barn hours for the summer are 8am to 9pm.  Rick has asked for a couple of hours of privacy a night.... And we definitely want to keep him happy!
